Public Speaking

Freelance Writer, Editor, Public Speaker & Graphic Artist

Specializing in Environmental & Community Topics

PROFESSIONAL SPEAKER FOR HIRE

Would you like a speaker who informs, engages, and inspires people about environmental and community topics?

That's what I love providing!

 I AM AN EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL

I've been a professional writer and educator for 25 years, with the past 15 years specializing in environmental topics. I've given talks for events and groups as diverse as the Harmony Festival, the Peace & Justice Center, Alliance for Democracy, North Bay EcoFest, and the Cancer Resource Center. I was on the Steering Committee of the fabulously successful "Better Not Bigger" conference. I've also written a wide range of innovative and beloved books, newsletters, columns, and articles about environmental and community topics.

I DELIGHT IN CREATING TALKS THAT ARE ...

ENGAGING. Environmental talks don't need to be depressing or complex. They can be passionate, compassionate, useful, and inspiring. In fact, they work better that way!

INSIGHTFUL. Because of my knowledge about environmental issues, I can provide truly useful information, analysis, and perspectives.

& EMPOWERING. To make a difference on these issues, we need more than talk and tips. I love digesting diverse and complex material, then converting it into accessible information that deepens understanding and empowers truly meaningful action.

MY SPECIALTY TOPIC AREAS ARE ...

While I can cover many topics, I have special knowledge and depth in these areas:

• Everyday toxics and healthier alternatives, to stop the harm of unnecessary pollutants
• Organic and sustainable food and agriculture, to help protect ourselves and our ecosystems
• Peak oil and alternative energy, to support our transition to sustainable energy sources
• Ecological living, so that we can all be part of the solution
• Personal growth and healing, so that we can gracefully shift and bring more joy to ourselves and others, and
• Effective individual and community action, that truly makes a difference in the world

 MY PERSONAL APPROACH IS ...

The environment is a timely topic, but not new to me. I love the earth and deeply value the ways it fundamentally empowers our lives, our health, and our journeys. Therefore I've been moved to use my communication skills to help us live more gently on the planet.

We can change our ways joyfully! Too often eco-writers bring only despair. That's why I've spent the past 15 years exploring how to speak about these issues in a way that deepens understanding while empowering cheerful action. Knowing that we can make a difference is a joyful feeling!

I hope that with my work I can help create a world and a future that's healthier and happier for everyone.

"We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom.
The world henceforth will be run by the synthesizers, people able to put together the right information at the right time, think critically about it, and make important choices wisely."
